Quinn Still Misses New Directions
Glee’s Quinn Fabray may be rocking a crazy ‘do and acting like she doesn’t care, but in truth, the former Cheerio truly misses New Directions.
After giving up her and Puck’s child and losing boyfriend Finn (Cory Monteith) to Rachel (Lea Michele), Quinn (Dianna Agron) returned to McKinley High this year with a new perspective on life: Nothing matters anymore.
“She’s just been through so much,” Agron tells TVGuide.com of Quinn’s sudden turnaround. “You know how it is when you’re in high school and you don’t know if maybe you’ve made all the right choices, but you want to be an adult and you want to own something. She wants to own something.”
Despite smoking with her new “friends” under the bleachers and refusing to reunite the unholy trinity, Quinn did gaze wistfully at the glee club she’s vowed to leave behind by the end of the season premiere. “How can she not miss that?” Agron says. “These are her friends and no matter if she’s had turmoil with them, especially with some of the guys, they’re people that supported her. She had a baby and nobody shunned her, so as much as she wants to be different and step outside of that, I think it would be dishonest to not have her have some feelings of longing for that.”
Her destructive ways will come to a head in Tuesday’s episode, when she’s faced with the return of Shelby (Idina Menzel), who had adopted her baby in Season 1. While Agron played coy and refused to say how this will affect Quinn, you can expect her veneer to crack as she grapples with the identity crisis that may keep her from future interactions with baby Beth.
Glee airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Fox.
